Walton Goggins

Walton Sanders Goggins, Jr. (born November 10, 1971 in Birmingham) is an actor and film producer best known for portraying Detective Shane Vendrell on the FX Networks series The Shield from 2002 to 2008.

Born in Birmingham, Goggins was raised in Lithia Springs, Georgia. He has lived in Los Angeles since he was 20 years old. He appeared in small roles in a variety of films and series in the 1990s, including The Next Karate Kid (1994) and The Crow:Salvation (2000). In 2001 he and Ray McKinnon formed "Ginny Mule Pictures" to produce a short film. The result, "The Accountant", won the Academy Award for Best Live Short Action Film in 2003. Other films produced or co-produced by Ginny Mule include "Chrystal" (2004), "Randy and the Mob" (2007), and "That Evening Sun" (2009). He and McKinnon are currently developing a series for AMC Television entitled "Rectify".

Goggins' wife, Leanne, died in a 2004 accident. He and his current girlfriend Nadia Conners, have involved themselves in environmental and humanitarian work through Global Green USA.
