Chambers earned his bachelor of architecture at [[Auburn University]] in [[1935]]. He went to work for the [[Farm Security Administration]] in [[1936]]. He joined [[Dupree Greer]] and [[Walter Holmquist]] in a new architecture firm in [[1938]], but left to serve in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Europe from [[1941]] to [[1946]]. He returned to the partnership after the war, and also remained with the Reserve Corps, where he rose to the rank of Colonel.

William Nugent Chambers (born May 8, 1912 in Birmingham, died June 17, 1997) was an architect and partner in the firm of Greer, Holmquist & Chambers.

Chambers worked as a draftsman for Holabird & Root before enrolling at Alabama Polytechnic Institute for his bachelor of architecture which he completed in 1935. He went to work for the Farm Security Administration in 1936. He joined Dupree Greer and Walter Holmquist in a new architecture firm in 1938, but left to serve in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Europe from 1941 to 1946. He returned to the partnership after the war, and also remained with the Reserve Corps, where he rose to the rank of Colonel.
