The 2005 Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival, held on September 23-25, was the 7th in the annual series.
The UAB Game Development Club partnered with TechBirmingham to create a large-scale virtual "Othello" game over a 25 square-block area of downtown Birmingham as part of a TechWalk event which coincided with the festival. Participating teams were provided with a T-Mobile Sidekick II personal digital assistant with which to register their moves.
During the festival, actor John C. Reilly was presented with the inaugural "Spirit of Sidewalk" award.
