The 2008 Blackwater Creek plane crash was a fatal aviation accident that occurred in the vicinity of the Walker County Airport in a wooded area traversed by Blackwater Creek off of Russell Dairy Road between Manchester and Gamble on June 29, 2008. The four-seat, twin-engine Beechcraft BE-55, registered to Crump Nissan in Jasper, had just taken off at 7:55 AM when it went down.

The victims were identified as Bobby Crump, former owner of Crump Nissan and his wife, Jan and son, Matthew as well as Lauren Brue, a University of Alabama student from West Des Moines, Iowa. They were setting out for a trip to Alabama's gulf coast.
