The 2017 Birmingham Barons was the fifth Barons team to play in downtown Birmingham's Regions Field. The season marked the Logan family's 11th season as team owners and the team's 32nd season as a Chicago White Sox AA affiliate.

The 2017 Barons went 53-85 and finished last, 37 games back, in the North division of the Southern League along with the Chattanooga Lookouts, Jackson Generals, Montgomery Biscuits and Tennessee Smokies. They finished 22 games behind the Montgomery Biscuits, 17 behind the Jackson Generals, and 15 behind the Tennessee Smokies.

Roster

Julio Vinas returned to Birmingham as field manager, succeeding Ryan Newman after one season. Jose Bautista was the team's pitching coach and Cole Armstrong debuted as hitting coach.
