8th Avenue North Bessemer is an east-west avenue paralleling the Alabama Great Southern Railroad tracks through downtown Bessemer, from 12th Street to 32nd Street North
An isolated western section of 8th Avenue North runs from 5th Street North Bessemer, behind the Bessemer Plaza Shopping Center, to 10th Street North Bessemer in the West Lake Highlands area. Northeast of downtown another small section connects 35th Way North to 36th Street North in the Braswell Homes public housing project.
