Apple Books was a book store operated by Nancy Gruer and Michael Parrish with Scott Williams in the former Southside Books location at 1915 11th Avenue South in Five Points South. The store survived for four years, from February 29, 1980 to February 29, 1984.

Apple Books encouraged lingering by offering comfortable seating and hosting cultural events like lectures, readings, and small concerts by the likes of improvisational guitarist Davey Williams.

The store closed not long after a dispute with the landlord over a Magritte-inspired mural that Gruer and Parrish painted on the outside wall.
