Bhamwiki is intended to be encyclopedic, following the model of Wikipedia.

Content

Content should always be:

  1. Cited from a verifiable source. Unpublished original research is generally not verifiable. Making use of undocumented personal knowledge is hard to avoid in some cases, but should be limited to uncontroversial statements of fact and should always be supported by documented information whenever possible.
  2. Neutral in tone and unbiased. Bhamwiki is best when it is a source of facts, not opinions or theories. A disciplined writer can do much to avoid bias, even when relating controversy. See Bhamwiki:Conflicts of interest for guidelines regarding the most common threats to neutrality.
  3. On topic. The subject of the Bhamwiki is the Birmingham District. The relevance of the topic should be clear. For discussion, see Bhamwiki:What to write about.
  4. Compatible with Bhamwiki's copyright policy. Do not steal copyrighted work. Give credit to all sources. And do not protest when your contributions are amended, deleted, superseded or otherwise appropriated under the terms of the applicable licences.
