Christopher Fennell

Christopher Fennell (born c. 1967 in Florida) is a sculptor, known for his large-scale outdoor works usually fabricated from recycled materials.

Fennell earned his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering at the University of South Florida in 1989 and worked at Motorola and Reflectone as a robotics and flight simulation engineer. He completed a bachelor of arts in sculpture at South Florida in 1993 and a master of fine arts at the University of Georgia in 2002.

Fennell constructed an 18-foot-tall "House Flower" sculpture from recycled roofing and timbers from a century-old home in Nectar for the Arlington-West End EcoScape in 2004.

Fennell was honored as the installation artist for the 2009 Magic City Art Connection, for which he created a piece entitled "Artist's Fire". It was constructed from dimension lumber decorated by students.

Since moving to Birmingham, Fennell has worked at the Thomas Project.
