Dale Cohen
Dale Cohen is the senior pastor of Florence First United Methodist Church in Florence, AL. He previously served as senior pastor at Canterbury United Methodist Church and Discovery United Methodist Church.
He graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 1983 and Emory University's Candler School of Theology in 1986. Cohen served as the youth minister at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church in the early 1980's. While at Mountain Chapel, he met and married the former DeDe Williamson and they raised a family. Dale and DeDe subsequently divorced in the 1990's. He later married Ann Hill.
Ministerial positions
- He planted and served as pastor of Discovery United Methodist Church in Hoover from 1992-2003.
- From 2003-2010, he was director of connectional ministries for the North Alabama United Methodist Conference.
- From 2011-2015, he served as superintendent of the Northeast district and was also responsible for new church development.
- From 2015-2017, he was the senior pastor at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook.
After leaving Canterbury, he and his wife, Ann, moved to Florence, AL during the summer of 2018 when he became the senior pastor of Florence First United Methodist Church.
