Eleanor Harrison

Eleanor Ray Harrison (died March 13, 2011) was the founder of the Harrison Insurance Agency and a Hueytown community leader.

Harrison graduated from Fairfield High School and went into business for herself not long afterward. She was an active member of Hueytown First United Methodist Church, the Hueytown Cultural Improvement Committee, the Hueytown Historical Society, and the Hueytown Hobby Club. The meeting room at Hueytown Public Library was named for her in 2010.

Harrison was married twice, to T. W. Harrison and Donald Egbert. She died in 2011. She was survived by two siblings, three children, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-children, and eight step-grandchildren. She is buried at Valhalla Cemetery.
