Estrada
Estrada Web Technology is an object-based World Wide Web content management and development application developed at UAB by Tanya and Dimitri Glazkov and Robin Snow, director of UAB's Web Center. Estrada takes its name from the Russian word for "stage" or "platform".
The UAB Research Foundation trademarked and patented the technology, which, in turn, has licensed it to Birmingham-based Gandalf Development for commercial deployment. Estrada is used for content management by many institutional and corporate clients, including UAB, Virginia Military Institute, the Mobile Infirmary, the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, University of South Alabama Health System, and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
Estrada is distinguished for having integrated tools for compliance with Section 508 of the Technology Accessibility Standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility standards. This is made possible by the fundamental structure of an Estrada site which keeps content and context separate, and therefore separately processed by different browsers' accessibility features.
Their corporate headquarters are located on Lorna Road in Hoover.
