Gray Byrum

Gray Byrum is an instructor at Culinard, the culinary institute of Virginia College of Birmingham. He grew up in Sylacauga and started working as a chef at the Wynfrey Hotel after graduating from college with a business degree. He went on two work under Gerard Pangaud and Yannick Cam at the acclaimed Homestead Resort in Virginia and at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where he led the culinary team.

Byrum started at the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary Hotel before taking over Spoodle's on Disney's Boardwalk, and then heading the culinary team at Citricos Restaurant in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. He was hired by Culinard in August, 2006 just before he was scheduled to take over the head job at Grand Floridian sister restaurant Narcoossee's.
