John Carter

John Carter (born November 18, 1962) is a correctional officer with the Homewood Police Department and one of 14 candidates to qualify for a special election to fill the Jefferson County Commission District 1 seat left vacant when William Bell became Mayor of Birmingham.

Carter is a former U. S. Marine and attended UAB. He and his wife have both been employees of Jefferson County.
