Michael D. Moore

Michael D. Moore is the founder of the Faith Chapel Christian Center in Wylam and author of several books. He served as senior pastor of the church until December 2, 2022, when he ordained his son Michael Kenneth Moore as the church's new lead pastor.

Moore was a student at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law when he was introduced to Christ by a classmate. A little over a year later he was called into the ministry. He preached his first sermon in January 1979 and became pastor of Grace Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1980. He later pastored Earnest Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church before leaving to found his own congregation with meetings at his home in April 1981. That church grew to become Faith Chapel Christian Center which now claims more than 7,000 members.
