The Prewitt Group is a family-owned insurance agency which was founded as J. R. Prewitt & Associates in 1974 by Jack Prewitt Jr. Prewitt Jr remains chairman of the company and his son, John Prewitt III is president.

The firm's offices are located in the Dobbins Building at 2146 Highland Avenue in Birmingham's Five Points South neighborhood.
