The club's primary activity has been the creation and maintenance of the Memorial Garden Birmingham Museum of Art, which debuted in 1959. Members have also been involved in reforestation projects at George Ward Park. Long-time member Weesie Smith was a notable proponent of utilizing native plants in gardens.
