Sirote & Permutt
Sirote & Permutt was a law firm founded by Morris Sirote, Jimmy Permutt and Edward Friend. Currently the firm operates as a partner of the global Dentons law practice, with the name Dentons Sirote. Its main offices in Birmingham are located in the Crescent Building at 2311 Highland Avenue. It also has offices in Florence, Huntsville, Mobile, and Tuscaloosa.
The firm, founded in 1946, became known as Sirote, Permutt, Friend, & Friedman when Karl Friedman joined in 1952. In 1959 the company's offices were located on the 11th floor of the Brown Marx Building.
The addition of Jerry Held and Joseph Apolinsky in the 1970s expanded the firm's name to Sirote, Permutt, Friend, Friedman, Held & Apolinsky.
J. Mason Davis was recruited to join the firm as a litigator in 1981 and later became a partner. Todd Carlisle became president of the firm in 2015.
In December 2020 Sirote & Permutt was acquired as a partner firm of the global Dentons law practice.
