Usage
{{About}} is a commonly used hatnote on Bhamwiki, and so should be placed at the top of an article, linking the reader to articles with similar titles or concepts that they may have been seeking instead.
The difference between the Distinguish and About templates is that the former (Distinguish) should be used when two entities are similar in location, time, and/or function, but don't share similar names. The latter (About) is for when two or more entities might be confused with each other because of similar names. This is particularly true when users use search to find an article, rather than clicking on a link.
If more than one link to other pages is required and a disambiguation page is unsuitable, use Template:About2, which allows free form text as a parameter. The use of About2 is generally not recommended, but occasionally can't be avoided.
This template does not have named parameters, instead relying solely on the order of the parameters. The first very briefly specifies what the article is about. The second parameter can be used to specify one particular other entity with a similar name; otherwise it defaults to "other uses." The third parameter provides a link to the other article, defaulting to the current article's title with "(disambiguation)" added.
