UAB Office of Research

The UAB Office of Research is an administrative unit at UAB responsible for leading and supporting the university's "research enterprise" by promoting excellence and creativity in research projects that contribute to mankind's knowledge and support economic growth in Birmingham and Alabama.

The office is located in room 720 of the UAB Administration Building. It is headed by Vice President for Research Christopher S. Brown. The office maintains its own finance and administrative department, overseen by Kamilah Frison, and technology and communications department headed by Michael Matthews. Functions overseen by the office include sponsored programs, research regulatory oversight, responsible research practices, research facilities and infrastructure, and research engagement development and partnerships.
