Riggins School in 2007

Riggins Alternative School, also called The Opportunity Academy at Riggins (TOAR) was an alternative school operated by Birmingham City Schools for students in grades 6-12. The school was located at 3177 44th Avenue North between North Birmingham and Boyles.

Before 2002, it served regular students in grades 1-6 as Riggins Elementary School.

As of 2005 - 2006 the school served a total of 26 students with a faculty of 8 full-time teachers. The principal was Tyrone Smith.
