Revolver was a rock band formed in 1965 as The So...But So What? by brothers Mike Webber on lead vocals and rhythm guitar and Kenny Webber on bass, with brothers Vannie on lead guitar and Danny Warren on drums.
The group, which had been playing together as young teenagers in Huntsville as early as 1963 formed a working band in 1965. Before they made their public debut, the Webber family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. The pairs of brothers appeared on stage with various other groups before reuniting in Birmingham, where they recorded their first single, "I Will Cry" under their original name, which was released by Prestige Productions Records.
The group soon gained a reputation for solid covers of Beatles songs as well as other popular hits and changed their name as a reference to the Beatles' 1966 album "Revolver". Revolver relocated to Birmingham where it was represented by Bunky Anderson of Souteastern Attractions and booked for countless college fraternity parties and dances as well as at bars and nightclubs across the region.
The group signed a recording contract with Muscle Shoals session guitarist Pete Carr in 1978. The group broke up in 1983 but frequently reunited for Beatles tributes and other special events, sometimes billed as The Beatnecks.
