The Cahaba Journal was a bi-monthly newspaper published in Trussville from September 1997 through September 2001. Having a circulation of just over 12,000, the paper focused on the northeastern portion of Jefferson County, with a particular interest on the local happenings of Trussville, Clay and Chalkville. Its editor-in-chief was Donna Cornelius.
Owned by the Over the Mountain Journal of Vestavia Hills, this publication was suspended due to poor advertising revenues. Its staff included an editor-in-chief, three free-lancers and a sports editor. Its final issue was published the week of September 13, 2001.
