The Wylam neighborhood is a neighborhood in Birmingham's Ensley community. It corresponds with the historical mining community of Wylam, which was an incorporated city from 1900 until it was annexed into "Greater Birmingham" in 1910.
The Wylam neighborhood is bounded on the west by 56th Street Ensley, on the south by Ensley Pleasant Grove Road and USX' Fairfield Works and on the east by the tracks of the Railroad separating it from Fairfield, and reaches toward McDonald Chapel and Sherman Heights to the north. The neighborhood includes Wylam Park and the Wylam Library. Other landmarks include Birmingham Fire Station No. 17 and St Stanislaus Catholic Church
The Wylam Neighborhood Association meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Wylam Library. The current president is Michael Butts-Etheridge.
