Banks Middle School is a 400-student middle school in the Birmingham Public School System that feeds into Woodlawn High School. Banks, which is a former high school itself, occupies six buildings in a residential area on on 86th Street South in the South East Lake neighborhood. A landmark jet airplane poised in front serves as the school's mascot. The Jets' colors are blue and yellow. The principal is Jesse Daniel Jr.
