The Southeatern Conference (SEC) is a 12 member NCAA conference established in 1932. It has been headquartered in Birmingham since 1948 and operates from the Southeastern Conference Headquarters building at 2201 Richard Arrington, Jr Boulevard North. The current commissioner is Mike Slive, who succeeded long-time commissioner Roy Kramer.
The SEC was the first conference to split into divisions and hold a post-season championship game in football.
