The Birmingham Comprehensive Plan (or "The Plan: Birmingham") is a long-range vision planning and master plan document for the city of Birmingham. The current comprehensive plan is summarized by the vision statement, adopted in May 2012, that "In 2032, the city of Birmingham leads the South as a community of choice and opportunity: diverse, prosperous, sustainable and beautiful."

The need to update the city's long-range comprehensive plan was acknowledged as early as Bernard Kincaid's 2006 State of the City address. Real progress on drafting a plan began in the Summer of 2011 when the city hired Goody, Clancy & Associates of Boston, Massachusetts to begin holding workshops with residents and other stakeholders. A final draft is scheduled to be presented in August 2012.
