The 186 Building in 2017

The 186 Building is a 6,500 square foot, two-story retail/office building at 186 Oxmoor Road in West Homewood. It was built in 1965 as a self-service car wash, and later extended upward with a second floor under a spreading mansard roof.

Adam Thrower of Ignite Properties acquired the building for redevelopment in 2019. Design Initiative was the architect and the Murray Building Co. completed the renovation work. The signage, fabricated by Fravert Services, was made to replicate the original monument sign.

Thrower also commissioned a mural from Marcus Fetch for the south side of the building.
