The Gift Bag was a clothing boutique located at 200 Belcher Drive off of U.S. Highway 31 in Pelham. It was opened in March 1978 by Sara Higginbotham as a side-line to her homebuilding, cabinetry and decorating business (which still operates as S & H Cabinet Works).
The store expanded twice and kept ahead of its competitors by virtue of Higginbotham's outgoing personality and the store's penchant for stocking the latest "must-have" accessories and knick-knacks such as twist beads and Beanie Babies.
The store closed in late 2007 due to Higginbotham's failing health.
