Jack, a naturalized citizen, served for 21 years in the U. S. Air Force. He earned his bachelor's degree in industrial engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, a master's degree in business from Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, and a doctorate in operations management from the University of Cincinnati.

Erick Jack (born c. 1957 in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago) is the dean of the UAB School of Business.

Jack spent much of his childhood in Metuchen, New Jersey and became a naturalized citizen after graduating high school in Trinidad. He served for 21 years in the U. S.
