Back to Birmingham: Richard Arrington Jr, and His Times. is an authorized biography of Birmingham mayor Richard Arrington, written by his former college classmate and fraternity brother Jimmie Franklin.
The 363-page book, which Franklin had once considered titling No More Bombing in Birmingham was largely completed in 1985, but Franklin postponed publishing until later in Arrington's term. He began writing the last chapter shortly after Arrington won the 1987 Birmingham mayoral election. It was published by the University of Alabama Press in 1989.
