Mike Miles
Michael D. Miles (born c. 1954) is the current Jefferson County Treasurer.
Miles previously worked as a loan officer for Birmingham Trust National Bank, and worked with his father to organize Greater Birmingham Ministries. He served under Mayor Richard Arrington as "Director of Inter-Governmental Relations" from 1983 to 1990. In 1994 he was hired as chief deputy to Alabama Secretary of State Jim Bennett.
Miles also serves as chair of the board for the Alabama Center for Law and Civic Education and served on a task-force for the Jefferson County Board of Education. He is a member of the Jefferson County Democratic Executive Committee and president of the Birmingham Downtown Democratic Club.
Miles failed to advance to a runoff in the 2020 Democratic primary to retain his office.
