Tony Barbee (born August 10, 1971 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is the head coach of the men's basketball program at Auburn University.
Barbee played collegiately for the University of Massachusetts. After being an assistant coach at UMass, Wyoming and Memphis, Barbee was hired as the first black coach at the University of Texas El Paso in 2006. Barbee led UTEP to a Conference USA championship during the 2009-10 season. On March 24, 2010 Barbee was named the new head coach at Auburn University, becoming Auburn's first black head coach in a major sport. Barbee will start his career at Auburn in a brand new $90 million arena.
