Tim D. Anderson, Jr (born June 23, 1993 in Tuscaloosa) is a shortstop for the 2014 and 2015 Birmingham Barons. He was selected with the 17th overall pick by the Chicago White Sox in the first round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.

Anderson played basketball and baseball for Tuscaloosa's Hillcrest High School. As a sophomore he was the starting point guard for the Patriots' state championship team. He began playing baseball in his junior year. After graduating, he enrolled at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi. He had a breakout year in his second season, leading all junior college players with a .495 batting average and was named to the NJCAA's Division II All-America Team. He was awarded a scholarship to transfer to UAB and play for Brian Shoop's Blazers baseball team.

After being selected 17th overall, however, Anderson signed with the White Sox, accepting a $2,164,000 bonus. He was assigned to the Class A Kannapolis Intimidators to begin the 2013 season. In 2014 he started with the Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem Dash. He underwent surgery for a broken wrist in late June. In 68 games he batted for a .297 average with six home runs and 10 stolen bases. On his return, he was promoted to the Barons.

In the off-season, Anderson played with the Glendale Desert Dogs. He was invited to the White Sox spring training for 2015 and was rated as the club's


In 2014, Anderson began the season with the Winston-Salem Dash of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League. He broke his wrist in late June, requiring surgery. In 68 games, Anderson had a .297 batting average, six home runs, and 10 stolen bases. When he returned in August, the White Sox promoted him to the Birmingham Barons of the Class AA Southern League, The White Sox assigned Anderson to the Glendale Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League after the regular season.

The White Sox ranked Anderson as their #2 prospect coming into 2015 and invited him to spring training. He began the season in Birmingham.
