Books-A-Million or BAMM is the third-largest book retailer in the United States. It was founded in 1917 as a street corner newsstand in Florence. It is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: BAMM) headed by President and CEO Sandra Cohcran. Clyde Anderson is Chairman of the Board.

In addition to its flagship superstores, Books-A-Million operates storefronts badged Books & Company and shopping mall book and greeting card stores under the name Bookland. Most of its stores feature a Joe Muggs coffee bar, also the name used for the company's newsstand operations. In addition to its primary retail component, the corporation includes a book wholesale and distribution subsidiary, American Wholesale Book Company (AWBC), an e-commerce division operating as BOOKSAMILLION.COM, and an internet development and services company, NetCentral, based in Nashville.

Books-A-Million's corporate office is located at 402 Industrial Lane in Birmingham. As of 2005 the company has over 200 stores in 19 states and the District of Columbia, with about 4,900 employees.
