William J. Christian K-8 School is a K-8 school in the Birmingham City Schools system located at 725 Mountain Drive in the Roebuck Springs neighborhood. It was named for former Birmingham Board of Education member William Christian. The principal is Michael Davis.
W. J. Christian school serves as a neighborhood elementary school for grades K-5 and as a magnet school for talented and gifted students in grades 6-8. In 2005 W. J. Christian became the first public school in the state to offer a chess program. The program is taught by Charles Smith.
An addition to the school, including three classrooms, a band room and a connecting hallway was designed by Sherlock Smith & Adams. Additional work in 2008 was designed by Dorsey Architects.
