Michelle Goldsmith is rabbi of Temple Beth-El.
Goldsmith grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, the daughter of a Polish immigrant and Korean War veteran. She earned her bachelor of arts and master's in Hebrew letters at the American Jewish University and a master of arts and ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1998.
She served as an assistant rabbi at Temple Beth Shalom in Jacksonville, Florida and Temple Beth Sholom in Sarasota, Florida before coming to Birmingham to succeed Brian Glusman as leader of the city's conservative temple beginning July 1, 2009.
She and her husband Jeff have four children, Rafaella, Aviella, Jonah and Shiah.
