This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 2003. It includes homicide cases occuring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.

Birmingham had 85 homicides in 2003 (down from a record of 141 in 1994.)

Listing by date

  1. February 26: Robert Wright, 24, shot in a drive-by shooting at the Curtis Court Apartments at Georgia Road and 59th Street North. Newlyn Lamar Henley was charged with capital murder in July 2007. [1]
  2. November 16: Frank Kilow, shot in the parking lot of Hayes High School on 43rd Street North.
  3. November 22: Rodreckus Johnson, 20, shot on Maple Avenue on his way to a party.
  4. December 2: Rex Woods, 43, shot multiple times on sidewalk on the 4500 block of 8th Terrace North, near his Kingston Avenue home.
  5. December 7: Bennie Clifford Banks, Jr, stabbed multiple times and struggled to his Harriman Park home before dying.
  6. December 9: Marcus Waters, 27, shot in car on the 200 block of Lexington Street in Wylam.
  7. December 9: Jer-Michael Barnes, 20, shot in car on the 200 block of Lexington Street in Wylam.
