The 2020 Birmingham Barons was cancelled due to the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. It would have been the 8th Barons team to play in downtown Birmingham's Regions Field.
The season marked the Logan family's 14th season as team owners and the team's 34th season as a Chicago White Sox AA affiliate. They were to have played in the North division of the Southern League along with the Chattanooga Lookouts, Jackson Generals, Rocket City Trash Pandas and Tennessee Smokies.
The coaching staff announced for 2020 included field manager Justin Jirschele, hitting coach Charlie Romero, pitching coach Richard Dotson, bench coach Devin De Young, performance coach Tim Rodmaker, and athletic trainer Hyeon Kim.
