The 2008 Alabama State Fair is the name of a carnival scheduled for September 19-28, 2008 at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Pelham. The fair is being produced by Universal Fairs & Expo South, a Tennessee-based promoter and consists primarily of a midway and about 15 rides which will be set up in the parking lot adjoining the Pelham Civic Complex.

Comments made by the event's promoter were disputed by Birmingham mayor Larry Langford as well as Music Center general manager Patrick Boone. Langford claims that the rights to the name "Alabama State Fair" are owned by the city.
