BioHorizons Inc. designs and manufactures dental implants, prosthetics, tissue grafts and instruments. The business was founded in November 1995 and incorporated in May 2006, a few months before it was acquired by HealthpointCapital. Steve Boggan is president and CEO. The company is headquartered at 2300 Riverchase Center.

BioHorizons held a public offering of stock in 2011, and planned to use the newly-raised capital to expand its sales force in the United States and around the world. It opened a second manufacturing facility in Oceanside, California with the 2014 acquisition of Precision One Medical. BioHorizons also has subsidiary sales offices in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Chile, Germany, and Spain.

In 2019 BioHorizons was awarded $60,000 in tax incentives from the City of Hoover to support a planned $2 million expansion which was expected to create 60 new jobs.
