Birmingham Friends Meeting is a Quaker congregation founded in September 1973. It is associated with the Southern Appalachian Yearly Meeting and Association as well as the Friends General Conference. The Friends met at various locations until May 2000 when they purchased a two-story house at 4413 5th Avenue South in Avondale. The meetinghouse is a contributing property to the Avondale Park Historic District included on the National Register of Historic Places. There is no formal leader of the Birmingham Friends. They are the only Quaker meeting in the Birmingham area.
