The Birmingham Hammers is a semi-professional soccer team which was formed in 2013 and began competing in the National Premier Soccer League's Southeast Conference in May 2016.

The club was founded by Morgan Copes and John Killian to promote professional soccer in Birmingham. With the addition of Evon Noyes, Eric Lopez and Wade Honeycutt, the organization developed a brand identity to market the concept.

Their efforts bore fruit with the formation of a team, coached by Joel Person, which played an exhibition schedule in 2015. The team was accepted into the NPSL for the 2016 season.

The Hammers are sponsored by the Vestavia Hills Soccer Club and play their home matches at the Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex near Liberty Park Elementary School and Liberty Park Middle School.
