The Birmingham Public Library Foundation is a non-profit foundation, founded in 1998, to receive and administer contributions to and for the benefit of the Birmingham Public Library. The foundation supports programs, facilities and technology and equipment purchases which are outside of the library's annual operating budget.

The foundation board president is retired banker and former Birmingham City Council member David Herring.
