Chicken in the Rough was a patented method for preparing and serving fried chicken which was offered by franchise in more than one location in the Birmingham area in the 1940s and 1950s. The patent was held by Beverly Osborne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The restaurants served fried chicken with french fries, biscuits and honey.
