Christ the King Anglican Church is an Anglican congregation that was founded by Lyle Dorsett, the Billy Graham Professor of Evangelism at the Beeson Divinity School on the campus of Samford University. Beginning with its first service on November 4, 2007, the congregation met in Andrew Gerow Hodges Chapel at Beeson for many years. Later it purchased and remodeled Berney Points Baptist Church off I-65 near the top of Shades Mountain in Hoover.
At the time of its founding, Dorsett, was also serving as an associate pastor at St Peter's Anglican Church and said that the goal for the new church is to attract young unchurched people with a "positive, forward looking" message combined with traditional Anglican liturgy and sacramental rites. The church was initially affiliated with the Anglican Mission in America. As a result of the consolidation of conservative Anglican groups in the United States it is now affiliated with the Anglican Church in North America.
