Citizens Trust Bank is an Atlanta, GA-based bank which has one branch in downtown Birmingham. Citizens Trust was founded in 1919 as the first bank to serve the African American community in Atlanta. In 1947, it was the first African American owned bank to become a member of the Federal Reserve Bank.

Citizen Trust Bank moved into the Birmingham market in February 2003 with the acquisition of Birmingham's first minority-owned bank, Citizens Federal Savings Bank, and its holding company CFS Bancshares. Citizens Federal was founded in 1957 by businessman A G Gaston. Citizens Federal's Chairman and CEO Bunny Stokes became the CTB Birmingham Division President, before retiring in 2004.
