The restaurant is a joint project of Gabe Garza, along with Superior Grill's Phil Barbaree, and Bob Kirchoff. The head chef, Jess Bourgeois is formerly from Commander's Palace in New Orleans, but has relocated to Birmingham after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
