Crumly Chapel Cemetery is a small graveyard created by Oliver Shoemaker and his wife Polly on their recently-acquired land in order to bury their son, who was burned severely and subsequently died on November 10, 1858. The Crumly Chapel Methodist Church was established the next year, in 1859.

The first Sunday in May each year is the designated decoration day at Crumly Chapel Cemetery.
