Jonathan David Hunke (born 1948) is the planning supervisor for Shelby County's Department of Development Services.

Hunke graduated from high school in Anchorage, Alaska and earned his Bachelor of Science in physical geography from the University of Georgia. From there he spent seven years as a satellite image analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency before entering the planning field.

He began working in planning in the Birmingham area, including 13 years with the city's Department of Planning, Engineering and Permits, where he became principal planner. He earned his Master's in environmental management from Samford University in 1995. While with the city and other agencies, he worked closely with the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham and the Metropolitan Planning Organization.

In 2003, Hunke was named "Planner of the Year" by the Alabama Chapter of the American Planning Association.
